This year, work will begin on creating a new “Pocket Park” right in downtown Wadsworth!
“I think it will provide another nice location in our downtown area for folks to come and take a break,” said interim service director Matt Hiscock, who envisions tables, chairs and a bi-directional stage.
The city hopes to use land off Watrusa Avenue, the site of a blighted property, to add to the pocket park.
“It opens up a world of possibilities for having a space where performances can occur and people can take a break and bring their lunch and just have a nice little green space downtown,” Hiscock continued.
The city is wrapping up the design phase now. The bi-directional stage could face either Main Street or the Southwest Parking Lot.
Hiscock hopes the Pocket Park could be a reality by the fall of 2024.
