During the summer, it’s orange barrel time in northeastern Ohio.
The road that has the most orange barrels at this time of year is State Route 94. In fact, five ODOT construction projects are taking place on 94 in Medina and Wayne Counties at the present time.
Here’s the list:
*On 94, from State Route 3 to State Route 18, it’s reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic is maintained by flaggers. The project will be completed by October 2015.
*On 94, between State Route 18 and the Wadsworth City Limits, there are intermittent, single-lane restrictions for work on a preventative maintenance project. One lane of two-way traffic is maintained at all times by flaggers. This project is expected to be completed by October 2015.
*94 is reduced to one lane of traffic at night within the city limits of Wadsworth as an urban paving project takes place. One lane of two-way traffic is maintained by flaggers at all times. The project is taking place mainly at night. The project is expected to be completed by October 31st, 2015.
*In Wayne County, State Route 94 between the city of Wadsworth and State Route 585 is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic in the area in maintained by flaggers. This project will be completed by October 2015
*Also in Wayne County, 94 at its overlap with 585 is reduced to one lane of traffic for bridge work. Two-way traffic is maintained by barrels. This project will be completed by August 28, 2105.
You can add a sixth road project if you include a Wadsworth City project involving the relocation of utilities on 94, near Interstate 76, in preparation for the anticipated widening project at that intersection next year.
Summer on State Route 94 and orange barrels are popping up everywhere.
