The Salvation Army held their annual Back-to-School Rally Wednesday night, where they served 109 families with school supplies and bookbags.
“It was a good turnout. We were able to help people who otherwise wouldn’t have been be able to have a good start for school,” said Lt. Mark Baggs.
He said the numbers were down somewhat and they think they know why.
“We have the feeling some people didn’t sign up,” explained Baggs. “That’s why we’re encouraging people to come in because we were prepared for the larger number.”
With reports showing the average cost of school supplies (including clothing) per child is around $600, the Wadsworth Salvation Army is urging you to come see them.
“We still have a few supplies leftover where we could still help some people out. We just can’t promise they’ll get everything if they didn’t sign up.”
