Friends of Woodlawn Cemetery are beginning a new tradition in Wadsworth by holding a candlelight event at the Old Grounds this Thursday (Dec. 14) from 6-8 p.m.
It’s a Norwegian tradition of remembering loved ones who have passed by placing a pine bough and candle at their headstone on Christmas Eve.
The Friends volunteers will place more than 300 candles in this area on Thursday. Feel free to drive by on College Street or, if you choose, park on Beck Street and walk to the Old Grounds.
You are asked to stay on the sidewalk for safety reasons.
