“Open lanes are not mandatory, but I encourage everyone to attend. There is no charge for the kids to bowl during open lanes,” Steele said.

A mandatory meeting is set for Oct. 14 at Ghost Alley. The meeting will be for parents and students beginning at 5:30 p.m. following open lanes.

The regular season will begin with tryouts that will be held Oct. 30 from 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. at Ghost Alley.

Prior to tryouts, all student athletes must have a physical. The physical forms can be found on the Wadsworth High School Athletics website, or picked up at the athletic office. The fee to participate in bowling is $100 and is due by Nov. 3.

“Practices for the regular season will begin Tuesday, Nov. 3,” Steele said. Practices will be every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m at Ghost Alley.

“This year, we will bowling in the new Suburban League Conference. There will be 12 conference matches, four non-conference matches, and six tournaments. I will have complete schedules for everyone at the Oct. 14 meeting.  We will need parent and student volunteers throughout the season, to help with different booster club events. A portion of the money that we make during those events will go towards our team, to help defray costs with tournaments, equipment, etc.,” Steele said.

Prior to the meeting, Steele needs three or four volunteers for next Friday (Oct. 9) for the home football game to help the booster club sell 50/50 tickets and programs.
