Mother Nature was the first culprit in delaying the opening of Wadsworth’s dog park inside Valley View Park. Now, a back ordered item is forcing organizers to delay the opening again.
“Our entrance gates are on back order,” explained Roni Leatherman who is heading the dog park. “You can’t have a dog park without entrance gates.”
They are still waiting to install the fountains and are hoping to have that completed by early August. The dog park has come a long way, with its fencing recently installed, waste stations and benches.
Wadsworth and surrounding areas are as anxious to use the dog park as organizers are about getting it up and running.
“We had tons of people driving by the park to check it out and see what’s going on,” Leatherman said. “People were walking by with their dogs and they were so excited! This community is chomping at the bit to get into this dog park and I love it!”
It’s hoped the dog park in Wadsworth can open for four-legged friends and their owners sometime in mid to late August.
