5 employees of the Wadsworth Electric Department are in the southern part of Florida trying to restore power to those affected by Hurricane Irma.

The employees drove two bucket trucks to southern Florida on Sunday to help in the effort.

Employees from three other municipal electric companies in our area, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson and Orrville joined with Wadsworth in the caravan to the Sunshine State.

The Wadsworth employees are expected to be in Florida for 10 days and work 16 hours a day.
