002The Wadsworth Fire Department spent their Monday afternoon battling a fire in the 700-block of Sparrow Way, south of the downtown area.

When fire crews arrived on the scene during the noon hour, they found smoke and flames coming from the garage and the attic area.

Besides the Wadsworth Fire Department, fire crews from Rittman and Chippewa Township were called to the scene. Wadsworth Police were also called to the scene for traffic control.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire. Damage was estimated by Wadsworth Assistant Fire Chief Robert Linder at $20,000. A cause of the smoke and flames has not been announced. Linder described a truck that was parked near the garage as a total loss.

Wadsworth Firefighters were able to rescue a bunny that was kept inside the garage.
