The City of Wadsworth and their consultants will give a presentation March 22 at The Galaxy beginning at 6:30 p.m. about the future of the municipal parks in town.
After working through public feedback to date and the variety of stakeholders/ special interest groups, the city has completed the park system/park recommendations and will unveil the master plan at this public presentation.
Guests who attend will get an overview of the planning process, hear the public engagement results, and see concept plans for five parks including Memorial, Durling, Freidt, Valley View and Holmesbrook. Attendees will also see plans for a new Downtown Pocket Park, a small park that will be created in a vacant lot on Main Street by Mills, just south of Alexandris Restaurant.
Wadsworth Service Director Robert Patrick said Kaleidoscope Park is past its useful life and needs replaced and that survey respondents think so too. A new destination playground will take its place. We know the tearing down of this wooden “castle” park will be bittersweet for those who helped build it and for children who love playing on it.
