Akron area YMCA’s have launched their annual campaign to make sure all community members have access to programs and resources that promote healthy living.
“We are a nonprofit organization that believes everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, should have the opportunity to learn and grow with us at the YMCA,” said Brian Bidlingmyer, vice president of financial development for the YMCA. “That’s why we offer financial assistance programs that ensure no one is turned away for economic reasons.”
Funds raised through the Annual Campaign directly help neighbors in the community participate in programs and camps that the YMCA offers. Donations are tax deductible.
The goal is to raise $450,000 through the 2015 campaign. Wadsworth YMCA’s goal is to raise $21,000. Since the campaign launched earlier this month, Wadsworth Y has raised more than $15,000.
