An agreement has been reached between the Medina County Commissioners and the city of Wadsworth on submitting an application to the state of Ohio to become part of the 2019 Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program, otherwise known as CHIP.
The Program encourages a community-wide approach to provide housing improvements to low-and-moderate income families, such as new windows, roofs, plumbing and electrical repairs.
Last year, Medina County received a $450,000 grant from the state while Wadsworth was awarded $400,000.
