Body fat, waistline, jeans, obeseA new Gallup poll shows more than two-thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese. Nearly 28-percent of Americans are obese, which is up from 27-percent last year.

Obesity rates are lowest in Hawaii and highest in Mississippi. While Mississippi’s obesity rate of 35-percent made it tops in the nation for the second straight year, Hawaii is at the other end of the scale, with fewer than one in five residents considered obese in 2014.

Ohio ranks 12th most obese on the list.

The national obesity rate is the highest it’s been since Gallup began tracking the figures in 2008.
