There will be plenty of changes coming to the track program at Wadsworth High School when the new school year begins.
D.J. Schrock will be stepping down as coach of the Boys Track Team in order to spend more time with his family. Schrock had quite a final year with the Grizzlies. Wadsworth captured their first Suburban League track championship since 2010. Plus, Wadsworth had three athletes qualify for the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s State Track Meet in Columbus at the end of the year.
DJ will remain as the head coach of the Boys’ Junior Varsity Basketball team.
Taking his place as head coach of the Boys Track Team will be Chris Beery, (pictured) who was head coach of the Girls Track Tram at Wadsworth this past season.
Beery was the head coach of the Boys Track Team from 1998 to 2005.
The moves mean Wadsworth is looking for a head coach of the Girls’ Track Team. No word on who is the front-runner for that coaching position.
