The city of Wadsworth has announced that they have closed College Street, effective Tuesday August 21st over Holmesbrook Culvert due to unforeseen circumstances, and it will remain closed until the anticipated project is completed, likely in early October.
During a routine inspection by the Engineering Department, evidence of potential roadway failure was found. Although the city of Wadsworth understands the inconvenience this will cause, the closure is necessary for the safety of the traveling public.
Work was anticipated to begin on repairing the complete culvert and roadway in September after the delivery of the culvert structure. The city is trying to expedite that delivery schedule. Detours will be posted. Stay tuned to the City’s Facebook page and website for updates.
